Hi Folks,
I'm Chris - those at this years gathering may remember me and my girlfriend Megan (she's on the boards as well). It was our first event of this kind and we had an absolute blast.
I guess a little about myself seems to be in order:
While I've always been interested and have managed to picked up a bit of knowledge over the years with everything 'mythology' related (no offense intended, christianity falls in there too), I'm new to the whole "trying to see where I fit in to everything".
While I won't claim to be Asatru (yet), I do tend to be following the northern tradition of heathenism, but not really on purpose. The more I read, the more it lines up with how I've been trying to live my life for the last few years (especially the Nine Noble Virtues).
And I may be on the right track - I've just started my first batch of mead |

Hey Chris,
I think I met you and Megan at our Pagan Gatherings 101 workshop. I'm glad to see you're both making yourselves at home on the forum and we didn't scare you off with the "woo woo" (yes, it is a technical term) stuff

Hail Chris!
Nice to 'meet' you. If you have any questions, feel free to send em to me, and I'll do what I can.

Welcome, Chris. I really enjoyed meeting you and Megan at the gathering this year, and look forward to 'talking' to you both on the forum.
Jim, very good of you to offer to 'do what you can' to help Chris. It speaks to our discussion about service to 'community', and there is no greater service than sharing lore and common sense.
My husband is also doing some reading on Asatru lore, following his discussion with James, and his participation in sumbel. There is a lot of crap on the internet (and some good), but Mike said the book he is currently reading is a good starting point, and that praise wouldn't come lightly. Its called "The Nature of Asatru" by Mark Puryear.
